North Wales Telecare Project

This project, led by North Wales Social Services Improvement Collaborative, is taking a collaborative approach to the development of Telecare services in the region.

The project is in 2 phases.

Phase 1, funded by WAG's "Making the Connections" Improvement Fund carried out a feasibility study into the options for a regional approach to Telecare. This study produced 6 work packages (these can be downloaded on the right) and a final report which made a number of recommendations which are being taken forward in Phase 2.

The recommendations being addressed in Phase 2 include:

  • Options appraisal and business case for Telecare Monitoring Service
  • Development of clear specifications for Telecare equipment and options for regional procurement of equipment
  • Development of consistent processes and quality standards across the region
  • Regional marketing strategy
  • Regional approach to awareness raising and training

Progress

A project manager has been appointed and additional implementation funding has been secured from the Improvement Fund to support Phase 2.

Time Frame

It is expected that phase 2 will be completed by October 2008.
