Getting EngagedDeveloping strategies to maximise user and carer engagement with the planning and delivery of social services
![]() Getting Engaged is an SSIA work programme aimed at developing effective models of user and carer engagement in the planning and delivery of social services. This work programme has emerged from general discussions but more particularly from the workshops and programme board in relation to the Annual Council Reporting Framework. The initial work programme is outlined below and was developed in consultation with the project reference group. 1. Develop an online questionnaire to map and establish a baseline of current activity across Wales 2. Hold a Learning Exchange to share current knowledge and show case notable practice 3. Commission external support to develop a learning product containing practical help and sign posting to notable practice; knowledge and evidence; support 4. Develop of 'standards for engagement' to enable self assessment 5. Develop a core set of survey questions to enable benchmarking between services and between Councils. In order to inform the work programme we have developed an online questionnaire which we request each local authority in Wales complete to enable us to establish a baseline of current practice and identify areas for shared learning and development. Please click on the link below to view the on-line questionnaire www.ssiaresources.org.uk/engaged User Engagement Report September 2010Pleas see document below which is a report by consultants SCP exploring on how we can use information from service users and carers gathered through frontline practice to inform planning and commissioning.
